Carbon Input Labeling

Carbon Input Labeling (CIL) is where the amount of carbon emissions involved in making a product are labeled on its packaging or in its documentation. Carbon Labeling can be described as the carbon footprint of an individual product.

It should be noted that manufacture is just one of the stages of the life cycle of a product. Use of a product and its ultimate disposal also produce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
